It's that time of year again, when we dust off the outdoor furniture and start to cook outdoors.
This time around we will be spit roasting a beautiful (and very tasty) Bird's Eye Cove Farm pig and putting some of our juicy beef on the grill.
All sides made from scratch with everything that was raised with care and consideration and a sprinkle of good ole farm love.
Tickets only in advance and available online or in person on the farm. Credit Cards & Debit accepted
.
Welcome
A traditional hand cut timber frame event facility, affectionately known as 'The Barn', nestles into the bucolic rolling fields of the 300 acre Bird's Eye Cove Farm. Highland Cattle roam the pastures grazing on the lush grasses of Vancouver Island, while chickens freely wander and laze in the warm Cowichan Valley sun. There is no other place on earth quite like it, where memories are made and peace, tranquility and natural beauty are found.

Farm to Table every Monday night
We are super excited to be able to extend our farm gate offerings a little bit further. The completion of our wood fired oven means that we can now bring to you, freshly made and cooked pizza. But only on Monday evenings from 5 -8pm!
We will be serving beautifully crafted wood fire pizzas for you to enjoy picnic style on site or take home (though we strongly suggest you plan to eat it hot and gooey right on the spot). The majority of the ingredients will come directly from our farm, the balance sourced locally from the Cowichan Valley (supporting other local farms). Each pizza is made completely from scratch, with dough made with our daily fresh eggs.
Come with a bit of time on your hands (this is not fast food) and an appetite.
mmmmmmm..... can't you just taste that wood fired yumminess right now!

Look who's joining our Easter celebration.....Cowichan Community 4H
We are super happy to announce that the Cowichan Community 4H Club will be coming to Bird's Eye Cove Farm on Sunday March 31st for our Easter on the farm celebration.
The 4H Clubs of Canada are very important and close to our hearts at the farm. The group's importance to both agriculture and the community is massive as they serve so many.
To learn more about the 4H, our local Cowichan Clubs check out this article which appeared late last year locally 'Hands on' at the heart of 4H' .

Easter Sunday..... come visit us!
As farmers, business owners and parents we often live in 'working isolation'. Focusing on what we need to do and what needs to get done, setting priorities based on the requirements placed on us.
We've decided that Easter Sunday of 2013 is going to be different for all of us at Bird's Eye Cove Farm. (and we'd like to make it different for you too)
We will host our first Easter Sunday Family and Community Day. A day focused on getting to know others in the local community, appreciating what spring means and brings to the farm and most importantly, a day spent with family (ours and yours).
Along with games for the kids there will be buskers, entertainment, added attractions and features. We will also be serving up a very special 'farm to table' tasty surprise. The event is rain or shine (of course the sky will be blue and the sun will be bright).
Admission to the event is free. Some features will have small charges associated with them (we've invited special guests to bring along a few surprises), Bird's Eye Cove fresh from the farm; treats, snacks and beverages will be available to purchase.

1st of Many Secret Suppers
Reservations are now closed for our first Secret Supper.
We are delighted that so many people have embraced the notion behind this event. For us the opportunity to welcome guests to the farm to enjoy authentic, farm fresh, prepared from scratch food means a great deal to us. Add to that, the opportunity for a local Chef and Culinary team to showcase their talents and we believe we have a winning combination.
This event and ones like it help bridge the gap between what we eat and where it comes from. Stay tuned for a post event wrap up.

Reservations now open.....Secret Supper.... shhhhh
Which person are you?
It's February 14th and you don't have plans for your sweetie. Shame, shame.
Or, it's before Valentines Day and you say, 'self, I'm going to make plans for Valentines Day and surprise my Sweetie'.
We are here to help you out. Bird's Eye Cove Farm has decided to use February 14th as the launch of our Secret Supper (Club). It's really simple. Reserve your spot (and one for your Sweetie) with a $20 per person commitment. (this amount is applied towards the cocktail and appetizer hour prior to sitting for dinner) The Chef, culinary team and menu are kept secret until you arrive at the event, when the menu is revealed. The Chef and Culinary Team will only be announced at the end of the evening.
You arrive, with your Sweetie (who by the way is thrilled that you thought so much of them to bring them to such a wonder 'secret' event - big win for you!) and then decide which entree you'd like ($25 - $45), finally what dessert you'd like. Just like you would at a fine restaurant. You will be pampered by our dedicated and skilled servers. And the food, will be out of this world.
So what's the difference.... you will be enjoying the creations of a top Vancouver Island Chef - a culinary experience that you can't get any place else.
Reservations only in advance. You will indicate your choice of vegetarian or meat for the entree at the time you reserve.
